America's Dream Employers 2025

People often talk about finding their “dream job”. This ranking takes a unique approach to identifying the “dream employers” who offer those kinds of jobs. College students were asked to name their dream employers in a large and independently conducted survey. This data was combined with evaluations from current employees of those organizations. The resultant ranking considers the relative frequency with which a “dream employer” was nominated by students, and how it fares in terms of employee appraisal. In its first edition, “America’s Dream Employers” is published in partnership with Forbes, and names the top 500 “dream employers”.

About the project

This ranking takes a unique perspective on a particular subgroup of American employers: those who college students believe offer their “dream job”. In its first edition, the top 500 of “America’s Dream Employers” is published in partnership with Forbes. It is based on an online survey of currently enrolled U.S. college students who reviewed which employers they would be excited to work for in the future, as well as employee evaluations of those employers. All in all, this list considered over 266,000 datapoints.

Scoring

How we rank the employers

Our scoring model is based on independently collected survey data from university students and employees in the U.S. The data is divided into several assessment dimensions to produce a final list of 500 organizations.

Score breakdown

direct score

On a scale of 0 to 10, respondents indicate how likely they are to recommend their own employer to friends or family – with 0 being the worst and 10 the best.

methodology

How we work

Group 1161

Concept

The employee surveys conducted by Statista R are carried out independently of the potentially awarded employer brands. This reduces distortion of the results that could arise from non-anonymous surveys (e.g. social desirability in response behavior). The focus on willingness to recommend and on general questions about working conditions allows for comparability across heterogeneous sectors.

Group 1162

Data collection

For data collection, Statista R programs detailed online questionnaires that ask survey participants about work-related topics. Statista R works with leading online access panels worldwide to identify suitable participants. During the survey, the incoming evaluations are checked for quality & validity (interview length, variances, inconsistencies) and sorted accordingly.

Group 1160

Evaluation

For the evaluation, Statista R applies a scoring model that primarily relies on the direct and indirect evaluation of the respondents. This includes both the evaluation of the respondent’s own employer as well as the evaluation of other employers from the same industry.

Quality Assurance

For each potential award-winning employer brand, the number of employees and the headquarters in the respective country are researched. This step serves as quality assurance and is presented as information in the publication.
