Calculation of growth rates

The calculation of the companies’ growth rates is based on the turnover figures submitted by the companies.
The compound annual growth rate (CAGR) was calculated as follows:

Methodology

Application Phase
All relevant companies identified by Statista were invited by post (by FOCUS) and by email (by Statista) to apply with their company for the Wachstumschampions 2024. In addition, the project was advertised via ads (print and online) so that companies that were not invited also had the opportunity to apply via the website created by Statista and FOCUS.
The application phase ran from 07 April to 30 June 2023. Throughout the competition phase, Statista took care of the participants and managed the data received. In addition to registering via an online form, the companies had to certify their turnover data via a form that was sent to Statista.
Criteria
  • Minimum revenue 2019: 100,000 EUR
  • Minimum revenue 2022: 1,800,000 EUR
  • The company must be independent (i.e. not a subsidiary or branch)
  • The company must have its headquarters in Germany
  • The growth must be predominantly organic
Evaluation

The list ranks the companies from Germany according to their compound annual growth rate (CAGR) based on turnover between 2019 and 2022. The sales of the financial years that predominantly fall in 2019 and 2022 were used for this calculation.

Quality Assurance

All data reported by the companies were processed and checked by Statista. Missing information (number of employees, address data, etc.) was researched in detail. Companies that did not meet the criteria for inclusion in the ranking were deleted.
