About the project

For the first time, Newsweek and Statista are awarding the ”World’s Best Digital Health Companies”. With the digital health industry globally on the rise, this top list aims to highlight the leading innovative companies worldwide. Digital Health companies are defined as companies who primarily offer digital products or services within the healthcare industry. In total, 400 companies from over 35 different countries and across seven market segments are included in the list: Data Analytics, Diagnostics, Health Records, Medical Management, Prevention, Telehealth and Treatment.

How we work

Group 1162


To compile the top list, Statista conducted comprehensive research, utilizing desk research, an online application form, and a partnership with the data and market intelligence company HolonIQ.

Data collection

The top list is based on three pillars:
Financial performance: Statista analyzed financial data from publicly available source such as annual reports, company websites, media outlets, and databases. Companies also had the opportunity to submit data using an online application form, accessible via

Impact: Statista cooperated with HolonIQ to assess a company in different impact dimensions, encompassing factors such as the quality and uniqueness of their product or service, relevance in the specific market category in which the company competes, recent development of the company as well as the expertise of the leadership team.

Online engagement: Statista analyzed traffic data from company websites and apps to assess the engagement ofusers with their product/service.

The evaluation of the companies was based on a scoring model including three pillars: Financial performance score (55%), Impact score (25%), and online engagement score (20%).
