Project Details

About the project

The research project “America’s Best Mid-Size Companies 2024” is a comprehensive analysis conducted to identify the top performing companies in the United States. The study was based on three dimensions: Employee Satisfaction, Revenue Growth, Transparency, and Sustainability (ESG).

Employee Satisfaction was investigated based on survey data from a large sample of approximately 170,000 employees of U.S. companies over the last three years. The assessment included both direct and indirect employer evaluations by verified employees.

Revenue Growth was assessed using Statista’s database. To qualify, companies needed to generate a minimum of at least US $100 million but less than US $10 billion in 2022 or 2023 (depending on whether the most recent data was published during the research phase).

Sustainability was evaluated using ESG data from Statista’s database and targeted research. Multiple Key Performance Indicators were used to create a comprehensive ESG index. These included carbon emissions intensity and reduction rate, Carbon Disclosure Project (CDP) rating, board gender diversity, existence of a human rights policy, and adherence to Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) guidelines.

Data was consolidated and weighted within a scoring model to create the final ranking. The top scoring companies were recognized as the America’s Best Mid-Size Companies 2024.
