From over 9,500 online shops in the United States, the online shops with the most American visitors and the highest American revenue in 2023 were selected as candidates for further evaluation. The online shops that passed the initial screening were then tested one by one in 36 objective criteria and 10 subjective criteria on 8 dimensions: Trust & Security, Purchase & Delivery, Structure & Usability, Service & Communication, Technical Details, Payment, Likelihood of Purchase and Traffic Growth. The top 500 online shops with the highest scores were then awarded “Best Online Shops 2025”.

About the project

The Best American Online Shops were identified after passing several tests based on 46 objective and subjective criteria. Overall, 500 online shops have been recognized in 25 categories.

 

The online shops were tested one by one in 36 objective criteria (on the website) and in 10 subjective criteria (by a total of 3.000 online shoppers in an online access panel) on 8 dimensions. Categories evaluated were Trust & Security, Purchase & Delivery, Structure & Usability, Service & Communication, Technical Details, Payment, Likelihood of Purchase and Traffic Growth. Those were weighted according to what respondents had communicated was most important to them.
