Newsweek, in collaboration with market research partner Statista, recognizes America’s Best Plastic Surgeons 2023 based on an innovative methodology consisting of three data sources. Online survey by State, Quality Scores, and Certification were all taken into account to award the top Plastic Surgeons in America.

Based on an online survey of over 2,000 medical experts and certifications, America’s Best Plastic Surgeons 2023 ranking awards the leading 805 plastic surgeons in five cosmetic surgery procedures for the third time in cooperation with Newsweek. The top 30 plastic surgeons in each cosmetic surgery procedure are ranked #1 to #30. The top 31-125 plastic surgeons for eyelid surgery, the top 31-165 plastic surgeons for liposuction and rhinoplasty and the top 31-175 plastic surgeons for breast augmentation and facelift are sorted alphabetically.

About the project

The ranking for America’s Best Plastic Surgeons 2023 is based on three data sources. During the survey period, medical experts with knowledge of plastic surgery (doctor/surgeons, plastic surgery clinic manager and medical professionals) were invited to an online survey in cooperation with Newsweek to name the leading plastic surgeons in the US for five cosmetic surgery procedures (breast augmentation, facelift, liposuction, rhinoplasty and eyelid surgery). Plastic surgeons from the 20 US states with the most plastic surgeons were included in the survey.

For their In-State recommendations, participants were asked to assess the quality of care (e.g., consultation with doctor, complications, follow-up care, outcome) for each plastic surgeon. Plastic surgeons received 5% towards their total score if they are certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery.
