For the first time, CNBC, in collaboration with market research partner Statista, recognizes the Best Banks Asia-Pacific 2024 according to consumer feedback. The aim of the ranking is to showcase the banks in 14 economies that best meet the needs of customers and thus to provide guidance and transparency for customers in the banking market. The best banks in every economy were chosen based on an independent survey from a sample of more than 22,000 consumers representing 14 different economies.

All financial institutions (e.g., brick-and-mortar-banks, online-only banks) offering a checking and/or savings account were considered in the study. Survey participants were asked to name all banks where they have or previously had a checking or savings account. The participants provided feedback on their overall satisfaction with the bank and the likelihood recommending it. In addition, they evaluated five other specific criteria (e.g., trust, terms & conditions). For each criterion, a detailed list of questions was asked. The survey took an average of 16 minutes to complete, and the field period ran in November and December 2023. Based on the customer evaluations a score was calculated for each bank. The importance of the five criteria was analyzed separately for each of the 14 economies, and the results were used to weight the criteria accordingly. In every economy the banks with the highest score in their respective economies were awarded. In total, 200 banks are honored as Best Banks Asia-Pacific 2024.
