About the project

The Best American Online Shops were identified after passing several tests based on 46 objective and subjective criteria. Overall, 1,000 online shops have been recognized in 39 categories.

The online shops were tested one by one in 36 objective criteria (on the website) and in 10 subjective criteria (by a total of 6.000 online shoppers in an online access panel) on 8 dimensions. Categories evaluated were Trust & Security, Purchase & Delivery, Structure & Usability, Service & Communication, Technical Details, Payment, Likelihood of Purchase and Traffic Growth. Those were weighted according to what respondents had communicated was most important to them.
